The new policy will align the policies for EBC and LDC.  The main changes are:-

·         No longer covering non-dependant deductions as eligible costs for a Discretionary Housing Payment

·         We will take into account if  there is a  for the rent and whether the guarantor has been approached with regards to paying arears

·         Taking into account if the landlord has insurance against rent arrears.

To adopt the revised policy for Lewes District Council, subject to the removal of bullet point 5 at section 4.1 of the policy, as recommended by the Scrutiny Committee at its meeting on 7 February 2019.
