Election of the Chair of the Council

One nomination has been received for the office of the Chair of the Council for Councillor Paul Davies.

 

The nomination will be voted upon.  Following the election of the Chair of the Council, and pursuant to the provisions of Section 83 of the Local Government Act 1972, the person elected to be Chair of the Council shall make a Declaration of Acceptance of Office in the prescribed form, before the Chief Executive.

Appointment of the Vice-Chair of the Council

One nomination has been received for the office of the Vice-Chair of the Council for Councillor Charlotte Keenan.

 

The nomination will be voted upon.  Following the appointment of the Vice-Chair of the Council, and pursuant to the provisions of Section 83 of the Local Government Act 1972, the person elected to be Chair of the Council shall make a Declaration of Acceptance of Office in the prescribed form, before the Chief Executive.

To ratify the calendar of meetings for 2024/25 as attached.  The following changes are recommended since approved in draft:

 

·       Policy and Performance Advisory Committee – moved from 29May to 3 June 2025 (to avoid a by-election)

·       Audit and Governance Committee – moved from 23June to 7 July 2025 (to align with external audit reporting deadlines)

·       Full Council – moved from 29 September to 15 September 2025 (as part of local government reorganisation bid approval timetable)

·       Annual Council/Full Council – moved from 18 May to 26 May 2026 (to provide sufficient time after any elections).
