Resolved that Councillor Macleod be elected Chair of the Sub-Committee for the duration of the meeting.

Disclosure by councillors of personal interests in matters on the agenda, the nature of any interest and whether the councillor regards the interest as prejudicial under the terms of the Code of Conduct.

There were none.

To consider, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as

amended), excluding the public and press from the meeting during the discussion of Item 4 on this agenda, as there are likely to be a disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act. It is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Resolved that, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), the public and press be excluded from the hearing as there was likely to be disclosures of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act. The public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

·      Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual;

·      Information relating to any action taken or to be taken in connection with the prevention, investigation or prosecution of a crime.

The Sub-Committee considered the Officer’s report and representations made by the Licensee.

Resolved that the Private Hire Driver’s Licence will not be renewed.
