Election of Chair of the Sub-Committee for this meeting

Minutes:

Councillor Lamb proposed and Councillor Collins seconded that Councillor Ballard be appointed Chair for the meeting.

 

Resolved: That Councillor Ballard be elected Chair of the Sub-Committee for the duration of the meeting.

Declarations of interest

Disclosure by councillors of personal interests in matters on the agenda, the nature of any interest and whether the councillor regards the interest as prejudicial under the terms of the Code of Conduct.

Exclusion of the public and press

To consider, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), excluding the public and press from the meeting during the discussion of Item 5 on this agenda, as there are likely to be a disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 & 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act. It is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Minutes:

Resolved: that, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), the public and press be excluded from the hearing as there were likely to be disclosures of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act. The public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information.

Determination of 'fit and proper' status of a driver to hold a Dual Drivers Licence

Report of the Chief Executive.

Minutes:

Resolved: To restore the driver’s licence but to immediately suspend it for a period of six weeks. In addition, the licence shall not be restored until the driver provides evidence to the Licensing Section that they had successfully completed an anger management course, with certain requirements concerning the course.
