Prior to the presentation of the planning application, the Head of Planning clarified that the Applicant was not Lewes District Council, with details of the correction set out in the supplementary report.

 

The Committee Officer read a speech in support of the proposal on behalf of Courtney Darby (Agent/Architect). Councillor Christine Robinson spoke in her capacity as the Lewes District Ward Councillor.

 

Resolved:

 

That planning application LW/21/0548 for demolition of existing house and outbuildings and erection of three storey building containing eight residential units be approved, subject to the conditions set out in the report and supplementary report and additional conditions in respect of hedges, planting and permeable parking.

1)    The number of units, layout and tight access would form an overdevelopment of the site, which would be out of character with the prevailing development and would also likely lead to pedestrian safety issues.
